M/Monit

M/Monit is geared for monitoring and controlling distributed computing systems. It can be set to perform useful causal actions automatically when there's a problem, perform maintenance and repair jobs, and optimize resource usage.

M/Monit has a clean, responsive interface that works well for monitoring hosts from two to more than 1,000. It's easy to set up, with a few clicks getting you up and running in seconds. The idea is to keep systems running by automatically dealing with error conditions, often without human intervention.

M/Monit can monitor a variety of things, including:

• Processes: Run or restart processes when conditions are met.
• Server: Monitor server status and resources like CPU, memory and network activity.
• Cloud: Monitor cloud services and connections.
• Disks: Monitor disk space usage and alert when it reaches a certain level.
• Files and Folders: Monitor file changes, permissions and content.
• Network Interfaces: Monitor network connections, bandwidth usage and alert when interfaces are down.
• SSL Certificate: Alert users when certificates need to be renewed.

The tool also can generate charts for multiple hosts and compare key statistics from different machines and services. The charts can be used to spot trends and forecast future values.

M/Monit is based on Monit, a widely used Open Source utility for monitoring and controlling Unix systems. That means it's got a modern, well-designed interface for controlling all Monit-enabled hosts.

M/Monit prices depend on the number of hosts you're monitoring. A license for up to 5 hosts costs €78, which includes 30 days of email support and one year of free updates. Larger licenses and enterprise deals are available. You can upgrade or renew licenses at a discount so you can keep up with new features and updates.
