GroupMe

GroupMe is a group chat app that's designed to get people together, whether that's for personal or academic projects. You can create group chats with up to 10,000 members without having to share your personal phone number. Members can join with a link, QR code or even just a phone number that only works with SMS.

Some of GroupMe's features include:

• Topic chats: Organize conversations by topic so you can find what you're looking for.
• Copilot: An AI assistant that can help with homework and other tasks and that generates images.
• Calling: Group or one-on-one voice calls within the app.
• SMS-only mode: Add members with just their phone number, without needing the app.
• Mod controls: Group administrators can moderate chats, add and remove members and delete posts they don't want.
• Host events: Plan and track events.
• Polls: Public or private polls to find out what the group thinks.
• Group alias: Use custom names for each chat.
• Pin messages: Flag important information so it doesn't get lost.

GroupMe also has a campus feature that lets students join groups based on their school and connect with classmates by major or other interests. Students can create groups and join existing ones, but they're in control of their own personal information.
