The idea for the platform came from two Stanford Ph.D. students who wanted to make video creation accessible to anyone, regardless of experience. Pika's pricing is tiered into four plans:

• Basic: $8/month (billed annually at $96), with 250 initial credits and 10 credits per 3-second video at Lightning generation speed.
• Standard: $28/month (billed annually at $336), with 700 monthly credits, upscale resolution and no watermark.
• Unlimited: $58/month (billed annually at $696), with unlimited Chill generations and 2000 monthly credits.
• Pro: Custom pricing for commercial use, with unlimited Lightning generations, unlimited credits and early access to new features.
